The Parliament was forced to suspend its sitting on Monday, after a technical issue cut off power to the chambers.
The power went out at around 11:20 am.
Hulhudhoo MP Mohamed Shahid told Sun that the power outage was limited to the Parliament’s chambers.
The sitting will resume as soon as the power is restored, he said.
The power had gone out as parliamentarians debated on a resolution submitted by the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) demanding the government to drop its Pearl Residency Program and share all related documents with the Parliament.
