The Maldives is on the receiving end of multiple accolades in tourism once again.
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) said that the nation had received the ‘Best Honeymoon Destination’ in the Travel + Leisure’s India’s Best Awards 2020 as well as the ‘Best Partner of 2020’ award by Fliggy, one of the best up and coming travel agencies in China.
Travel + Leisure magazine is one of the most popular travel and luxury lifestyle publications in the world. The awards are handed out by the magazine for the purpose of recognizing the commitment of tourism industry partners.
Winners were decided much like other years, through voting among the readers of the magazine.
The Maldives also received the ‘Golden Fliggy Award’ in addition to the Best Partner Award in the Annual Award ceremony of Fliggy held this month.
Fliggy is now one of the most recognizable names in the Chinese travel industry which 200 million utilize to make travel bookings. The Maldives carried out a promotional campaign in partnership with Fliggy in the colorful Double 11 festival in China.
The Maldives has enjoyed popularity among Indian tourists ever since the nation reopened its borders in July. India is now the second top source market and a high number of celebrities from India, as well as high-end travelers, have been observed spending their vacation in the Maldives.
MMPRCF and its Visit Maldives campaign are also not stepping off the gas in its bid to promote and market the Maldives to travelers. Virtual events, familiarization trips, TV, and radio campaigns are being actively pursued for the purpose.
MMPRC described the awards as a massive victory for the Maldives during its regrowth back from the pandemic.
