Fisherman in Maalhendhoo passes away

Photo shows Maldivian fishing boat at sea. The government of Maldives decided to permit fishermen to head out to sea at a time when the whole country is in a state of lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic virus on April 17, 2020.

A fisherman has passed away in N. Maalhendhoo.

The individual passed away suddenly and was identified as Abdul Rasheed Abdul Ghafoor by Maalhendhoo Council President Mohamed Shaah Moosa. 

The individual was aged 56. Council President Shaah said that Ghafoor was not ill when he passed away.

“He was taken on board while at sea for bait fishing after his condition deteriorated. He passed away afterward.” Said Shaah. 

His body has now been transported to Male’ City.
