Male'-Hulhumale' bus services set to resume tomorrow

Male’ Hulhumale bus transport services are set to resume tomorrow.

Maldives Ports Limited, which conducts the bus transport operations between the two islands linked via the Sinamale’ bridge, said that the bus schedule will be different from the schedule in place before the lockdown on the capital when services are recommenced tomorrow. 

Previously buses were scheduled for every 30 minutes.

According to the schedule published by MPL, the first buses will depart at 6:30. Buses will run one per hour from 7-9. Buses are scheduled for every two hours starting from 12:00 to 21:00. The last bus is set to depart at 23:00.

Greater Male’ Transport Link said that passengers are expected to adhere to strict safety standards as issued by the Health Protection Agency. (HPA).

HPA has not yet issued a safety guideline regarding public transport. The agency said that the guideline will be published by tomorrow. It is expected that masks would be mandatory and that passengers would be required to maintain social distancing inside the bus or terminal.
