SSC examinations scheduled for October-November later this year, are to be postponed if the Cambridge O’ Level examinations are postponed, Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali has stated.

The Minister was speaking in a news conference last night when she stated that discussions were underway with Cambridge over postponing the situation with Covid-19 in the Maldives. The Minister said that no official word from Cambridge has been received so far.

“However, if they decided to bring changes to the international O’ Level examinations, we will bring changes to our internal examinations, which is the SSC examinations.” said the Minister who added that no changes are yet planned for the examinations.

The Cambridge examinations in May/June have already been canceled as the government of the Maldives takes stringent measures to combat the Covid-19 virus in the Maldives. The measures include the closure of schools, colleges, and universities across the country.
