WHO donates 5000 Covid-19 test kits to Maldives

World Health Organization (WHO) has donated 5000 more test kits for the coronavirus to the Maldives.

An agreement to receive the test kits were signed at the Covid-19 Response Center today. The agreement was signed by Health Minister Abdulla Ameen on behalf of the Maldives and the Representative of WHO to the Maldives, Dr. Arvind Mathur.

WHO has previously donated 1000 test kits to the Maldives.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Ameen stated that the government was focused on increasing the capacity of testing for the virus.

Dr. Mathur also stated that the Maldives was following the WHO guidelines in containing the disease.
