Supreme Court to have an open day each month

Supreme Court, on Tuesday, declared the first Thursday of each month as an open day, allowing the public the opportunity for guided tours of the top courthouse.

The Supreme Court, in a statement, said that the first open day would be held on March 5.

The tours will be held in three one-hour sessions; 9:00-10:00, 10:00-11:00, and 11:00-12:00, while the maximum number of people who can be accommodated for each session is 10.

According to the court, the tours will include visits to sections of the court, information on the work of each section, and the opportunity to view courtrooms and even live hearings.

Participants will be selected on first come, first served basis, and those who arrive late and miss any of the first two sessions will be slated spots from the next session, said the court.

The court has also offered to organize special tours for schools, institutions and non-governmental organizations upon request.
