MMPRC holds talks with industry operators to develop tourism

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Company (MMPRC) has held discussions with industry operators and experts to develop the tourism industry of the country even further. 

The discussions named "Tourism Marketers Evening" were held in Bandos Maldives and were attended by guesthouse operators, travel agencies, tour operators and liveaboard marketeers.

The meeting was attended by MMPRC  Managing Director Thoyyib Mohamed along with other senior officials from the company. Thoyyib stated in the meeting that it was imperative to develop the tourism industry of the country. He further stated that preparations to launch MICE tourism segments of the industry such as Cultural and Sports markets were also underway.

MMPRC is currently carrying out joint campaigns including roadshows and fairs targetting 23 different markets. 

The Maldives has received 1.1 million tourists so far this year and is expected to easily reach its target of 1.5 million tourists by the end of the year. The country was visited by 1.4 million tourists in 2018.
