Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched a special anti-corruption campaign ahead of the parliamentary elections 2019.
ACC announced this Monday that the purpose of its campaign, Stopping Electoral Corruption 2019, is to raise public awareness on possible acts of corruption and fraud which may take place during an election, and encourage electoral integrity and encourage voters to choose candidates who are morally upstanding.
“With the purpose of raising public awareness on the negative impact of corruption, promoting fairness and honesty in governance, and disseminating necessary information regarding stopping corruption and the meaning of corruption as stated in Article 21 (d) and (f) of Anti-Corruption Commission Act,” wrote ACC in its announcement.
ACC reports it will run multiple awareness programs as part of the campaign including; dissemination of information on stopping electoral corruption via Maldivian television channels, and creation of video spots for TV broadcast.
