Chairman of State-owned Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), Ahmed Mausoom has been placed on suspension.
Mausoom, who was appointed Chairman of MWSC on February 6, was placed on suspension this Wednesday.
He was placed on suspension after the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)’s investigative report on the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) embezzlement case revealed a USD 100,000 transfer from SOF Private Limited – the company accused of laundering the embezzled funds – to CGT Private Limited - a company Maumoom serves as Managing Director of.

ACC’s investigative report was released on February 14, one day after the President’s Office launched its Zero Tolerance to Corruption Campaign.
