South-side of Sina-Male’ Bridge to be closed for sporting event

Maldives Police Service has announced the south-side of the Sina-Male’ Bridge will be temporarily closed off this Sunday evening for the motorcycle rally and run to celebrate inauguration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The bike rally and run – events of the Dhulhaheyo Hashiheyo Eid sports festival – will be held on the Sina-Male’ Bridge at 4 pm this Sunday.

MPS has announced the south-side of the Sina-Male’ Bridge – two lanes for vehicles travelling from Male’ City to Hulhumale’ – will be closed from 3 pm to 4:30 pm this Sunday.

The agency announced the two lanes on the north-side of the bridge will be open to traffic; with one lane dedicated to traffic from Male’ City to Hulhumale’ and the other lane dedicated to traffic from Hulhumale’ to Male’ City.

The first event of the Dhulhaheyo Hashiheyo Eid is a beach volley match which will be held at 2 pm. The event will be followed by a surfing/body boarding event, a skating and swimming event and the bike rally and bridge run.

This Sunday’s events will end at 5:30 pm at the Maafannu Track, where Solih will deliver a speech.
