Fire burns down lounge built in Gaddhoo to welcome the President

The lounge built to welcome President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on his visit to Gaafu Dhaalu Gaddhoo earlier this month has burned down in a fire tonight. 

A source in Gaddhoo told Sun Media that the incident took place around 10:30 p.m. tonight. 

The cultural lounge was built with thatch and wood according the source. 

He said that no one is trying to extinguish the fire while Island Councilors and police are at the scene and is believed to be letting the place burn down since the fire is engulfed the building.
