Two men injured in the traffic collision which took place in the main road of Feydhoo, Addu City in the early hours of this Wednesday are in in critical condition and being treated at the Intensive Care Unit.
Maldives Police Service reports a 26-year-old man and a 35-year-old man were injured in the collision which took place at approximately 1:18 am.
The collision took place between two motorcycles.
The victims were first taken to the Feydhoo Health Center and then transferred to the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital due to the seriousness of their injuries.
Senior Community Health Worker Mohamed Najeeb, who is charge of running the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital reported to “Sun” that both victims of the collision suffered serious injuries and are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. One of the victims of the collision is currently breathing with the help of a ventilator, said Najeeb.
Najeeb said the doctors have advised for both men to be transferred to Male’ City for treatment. He said they will be transported as soon as they are allocated plane seats.
“Sun” has been informed both the men sustained serious head injuries.
