Foundation work at King Salman Mosque has been completed

The foundation work of the King Salman Mosque, being built with free aid from the Saudi Arabia, has been completed. 

Housing Minister, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu tweeted a picture of the construction site showing the foundation work complete along with the most of the work on columns of the ground floor. 

The project worth USD 24.95 million is contracted to the Turkish company, Turmaks, to build the largest mosque in the Maldives.

The King Salman Mosque being built on the land north of Artificial Beach, would have 41,500 square feet with six floors, four elevators along with a parking area of 44,100 square feet.

The mosque is set to have an auditorium and a multipurpose hall along with a world-class library, classrooms and seminar rooms. Along with the marble area, the mosque can accommodate 10,000 people in prayer at a time.
