PSM files suit following threats to satellite feed

Public Service Media (PSM) has filed suite with the Maldives Police Service and the security forces after a threat has been to shut down the satellite service to PSM and Channel 13. 

PSM filed a suit saying that they have been threatened with terrorism and called to the police and the security forces to look into it as soon as possible. 

They said that the threats were made by the Ahmed Niyaz (Shaviyani Milandhoo) who is involved in the opposition activities. PSM said that the threat was made in early February and a case has been filed with the police. 

Regarding the matter, Niyaz told Sun Media that PSM efforts are defamatory against him and would file a defamation suit against PSM. He said that he sent out a tweet in February and the tweet did not carry any threats. 

Niyaz is the President of the MDP's Milandhoo constituency.
