Bill Clinton campaigns for Hillary in New Hampshire

HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton says once the election is over, his wife's supporters should reach out to Donald Trump fans.

Speaking at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, Clinton on Monday said Democrats should not treat Donald Trump supporters the way they and their candidate have treated Hillary Clinton backers.

He says while Trump supporters have reason to feel alienated, their anger will not take them where they want to go. Hillary Clinton recently apologized for saying half of Trump's supporters are "a basket of deplorables."

The former president didn't mention the recent release of a video showing Trump boasting that his fame allowed him to "do anything" to women, the women who've accuse Trump of groping them, or claims that Hillary Clinton "viciously" attacked women who accused her husband of sexual assault.
