Police further stated that the suspects were produced before the court to determine their remand status. The court ordered Hajara Maisa Ali to be remanded for seven days, while Abdulla Ali was remanded for 15 days.
The case is currently under police investigation.
Drug-related offences have become increasingly prevalent in the Maldives. Notably, the number of young people arrested in connection with such crimes has been rising, particularly in the greater Malé area.
