A young man died on Tuesday after falling from the upper floor apartment in the Aman towers, also known as Fahi flats, located in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

A police spokesperson said the incident took place at Aman Udhares 8, one of the residential towers developed by the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC).

The police identified the deceased as a 20-year-old Maldivian male.

He is believed to have fallen from the 15th floor of the tower, said the spokesperson.

Sun has learnt the young man sustained serious head injuries in the fall, and died upon impact.

The latest tragedy comes after two children fell from residential buildings in Hulhumale’ Phase II a little over month back, resulting in a fatality in one case and critical injuries in the other.

A 16-year-old girl sustained critical injuries after falling from an Amaan Udhares tower on September 31, while a two-year-old girl died after falling from a STELCO flat the very next day.

The incidents prompted FDC to roll out safety measures, including providing assistance in installing window stoppers at the Aman towers.
