The scene of a previous accident: Motorcyclist injured after crashing into pickup door as it was opened.
A motorcyclist was injured in Hulhumalé Phase 1 on Sunday after the vehicle crashed into the door of a stopped pickup on Nirolhu Magu as it was being opened.
According to the Police, the incident was reported at approximately 16:04pm this evening. The accident occurred as the approaching motorcycle crashed into the door of the parked pickup as it was being opened.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 27-year-old Maldivian man, received medical treatment for his injuries. The Police confirmed that he did not sustain any serious or life-threatening injuries. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident.
Road accidents have become increasingly common in the Malé region, with several fatal incidents reported in both phases of Hulhumalé. Most recently, on the night of August 29, a nine-year-old girl was critically injured in a dangerous accident near Vinares Tower 7 on Hithigas Magu in Hulhumalé Phase II. She died from her injuries on September 1st.
