Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has resigned from his ministerial-level position at the President's Office; the post he was appointed to following his earlier resignation as the Health Minister.

In early June, Nazim was appointed Principal Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto at ministerial rank.

Chief Government Spokesperson at the President's Office Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) confirmed to Sun on Monday that Nazim submitted his resignation this morning.

Efforts to reach Nazim for comment on the reason for his resignation were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to phone calls.

Nazim, who also served as Health Minister during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen, initially held a senior position at the President's Office under the current administration. While serving in that capacity, he was appointed Health Minister on September 30, 2024.

Nazim resigned as Health Minister on April 14th in a cabinet reshuffle initiated by the President following the government's significant setback in the local council elections and referendum held earlier that month.

Most of the individuals who resigned from the cabinet at the time have since been appointed to other senior positions within the government.
