Superbrands, the international platform that identifies and recognizes the most outstanding, trusted and influential brands across the world, has been officially launched in the Maldives. The launch ceremony was held at Manhattan Business Hotel in Male' city.
Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Ali Hussain Didi said Superbrands will not only highlight the strongest brands in the country, but also encourage businesses to maintain consistent quality, adopt innovative solutions, and build trust as a core element of communication. He noted that branding today goes beyond logos and names, and reflects performance, reliability and consumer confidence.
Established in London 32 years ago, Superbrands is widely regarded as a global benchmark for branding excellence. The program is currently active in more than 85 countries, where it helps strengthen brand value, reinforce market leadership and build long-term trust among consumers.
The Chairman of Superbrands Maldives is Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, Managing Director of Trans Media. Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Mausoom said the introduction of Superbrands in the Maldives presents a major opportunity for Maldivian businesses and service providers to demonstrate their strength at an international level. He added that the initiative will further encourage companies to uphold world-class standards in quality and service delivery.
Superbrands Maldives also introduced its 15-member expert council, responsible for evaluating and rating brands in the country. The council comprises specialists in business leadership, governance, marketing, tourism, finance, education, media and public policy.
Regional Coordinator Shariful Islam delivered an introductory presentation on the Superbrands platform, outlining its evaluation process and global impact. The ceremony was attended by senior business leaders, economists, technical experts and industry stakeholders.
