Power outages hit Hulhumale' Phase 1; STELCO working to restore electricity

There was a power outage in several areas of Hulhumale' Phase 1 tonight.

The State Electric Company (STELCO) said it is working to restore electricity to the affected areas as soon as possible.

The outage occurred in the area around Hulhumale' Hospital and the Reethigus Residence zone in Phase 1. The cause of the disruption has not yet been disclosed.

STELCO has apologized for the inconvenience caused to the public.

Hulhumale' has experienced several outages this year, especially in densely populated areas where rapid development has placed added pressure on the distribution network. STELCO often releases the cause of such outages only after repairs are completed, and residents frequently express concern over recurring disruptions in both Phase 1 and Phase 2.
