Education Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu has announced that physical construction of the new seven-storey building for the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) is expected to commence towards the end of this year.
The project was awarded to Yes Maldives Private Limited on February 4. The seven-storey building will be constructed on the vacant plot behind the existing CHSE premises in Malé, at a total contract value of MVR 51.6 million.
Speaking to state media, Minister Shafeeu said the project is currently at the architectural approval stage. He expressed confidence that physical construction of the building would commence before the end of the year.
The new CHSE building will comprise 15 classrooms, four science laboratories, and a staff room. The facility will also include a leading teacher’s room, an administrative office, three elevators, and a dedicated parking area.
