MIB invites nominations for elected director representing common shareholders

Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has opened applications for the position of elected director to represent common shareholders on the bank’s Board of Directors.

According to MIB, applicants must be shareholders of the bank and meet all fit-and-proper requirements under the Banking Act, regulations of the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), rules of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA), and the bank’s own bylaws.

Eligible candidates must be between 30 and 70 years of age.

Academic qualifications accepted for the position include a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting or Information Technology. An MBA with specialization in these fields, or full or associate membership of a chartered accounting body, also meets the criteria.

MIB stated that candidates must possess strong banking and financial knowledge, uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity, and be capable of representing the long-term interests of shareholders.

Ordinary shareholders wishing to apply must submit the completed application form and required documents before 16:00 on 31 August. Applications can be submitted to the 5th floor of MIB’s Head Office or via email.
