Sheikh Abu Taymiyyah set for religious events in three Maldivian cities

Sheikh Abu Taymiyyah, is scheduled to arrive in the Maldives on Wednesday to participate in a series of special religious events.

The renowned UK-based young Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abu Taymiyyah, is scheduled to arrive in the Maldives on Wednesday to participate in a series of special religious events.

The initiative, organized by the Mahaldheeb Foundation, is titled "Enlighten." Spanning nine days, it primarily targets youth and adolescents.

In addition to Malé City, the activities will also be held in Addu City and Fuvahmulah City.

The Sheikh's itinerary will commence in Malé, where scheduled events include exclusive dinner and coffee sessions for youth, as well as programs tailored for university and school students. Furthermore, the schedule features sessions held in collaboration with the Islamic Ministry, a public lecture, a Friday sermon, and various youth sporting activities. The Malé leg of the visit will also include a session dedicated to women, TV and podcast recordings, and a special meeting with local Maldivian scholars.

Following the activities in the capital, Sheikh Abu Taymiyyah will travel to Addu City next Sunday. His engagements in Addu include a visit to Addu High School and meetings with school administrators and students. Additionally, a public lecture will be held with the assistance of the Addu City Council.

The Sheikh is then scheduled to visit Fuvahmulah City on Tuesday. The itinerary for Fuvahmulah include a school session, a meeting with local youth, and another public lecture supported by the Fuvahmulah City Council. A day has also been dedicated to local tourism experiences and swimming activities in the city.

The Mahaldheeb Foundation noted that the "Enlighten" program is being conducted with the support and participation of various institutions, including the Islamic Ministry, Education Ministry, the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), and the Maldives National University (MNU). The Addu and Fuvahmulah City Councils are also providing significant assistance for these events.

Sheikh Abu Taymiyyah is scheduled to depart the Maldives on August 27th.
