President inspects progress on Arabiyya School’s new building

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu visited the project site for the Arabiyya School’s new building on Wednesday, inspecting the progress on the construction work.

He was welcomed upon arrival by Education Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu and Rasheed Carpentry and Construction (RCC)’s Managing Director Ibrahim Rasheed.

During the visit, President Muizzu met with students of Arabiyya School and several higher education students, who shared their perspectives and aspirations with him.

He assured them of the government’s full support in addressing their concerns and emphasized the high priority his administration places on advancing education.

The construction of Arabiyya School’s new building was contracted to RCC on November 12, 2024. According to the President’s Office, the eight-story facility will feature modern classrooms, state-of-the-art educational resources and modern amenities.

Construction of the new building is scheduled for completion at the end of this year, with the school set to open in the new premises next year.

The development of the spacious and modern facility on a prime plot of land in Male’ fulfils a key pledge by President Muizzu to revitalize Arabiyya School and transform it into a premier center for Arabic-medium education.

The President’s Office states that he remains committed to ensuring that the project is completed to the highest standards and on schedule, enabling the school to transition to its new premises.
