PSM journalist Ahmed Saaid, who is undergoing treatment for dual kidney failure, has been admitted to the ICU.
Saaid’s relatives told Sun that his condition worsened while he was undergoing dialysis at the hospital last night. They said he suffered another stroke at the time and is now receiving treatment in the ICU.
“The situation is not good yet. We wish for prayers from everyone,” a close friend of Saaid said.
It is understood that Saaid’s condition deteriorated at a time when he was preparing to travel abroad for a kidney transplant. With the help of close friends and well-wishers, he had been searching for a donor for the transplant.
Saaid was diagnosed with kidney failure in June 2018. At the time of diagnosis, his kidney function had dropped to just 13 percent. Since then, he has been on dialysis and receiving continuous treatment.
Despite his illness, Saaid continued to work as a journalist. He joined SS Media in 2009 as a presenter and journalist, and is widely known as a respected sports journalist, especially for his commentary, sports programs and sports news coverage.
