Amjad, who recently resigned as CJA, appointed Employment Tribunal’s president

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Uz. Amjad Musthafa, M. Randhoo Villa, who recently resigned from his position as the Chief Judicial Administrator, as the President of the Employment Tribunal.

He was sworn-in during a ceremony held at the President’s Office on Tuesday morning.

The oath of office was administered by Supreme Court Justice Uz. Abdulla Hameed, after which President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu presented Amjad with his letter of appointment.

Amjad previously served as Chief Judicial Administrator of the judiciary before resigning from the post on April 20^th. At the time, he stated that his resignation was due to personal reasons.

Amjad holds a Bachelor's Degree in Shari'a and Law and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He has extensive experience in the legal and public administration sectors and has served as a member of the Minimum Wage Advisory Board.

This marks his second appointment to the Employment Tribunal, having previously served as the Tribunal’s President in 2020.
