MET predicts calm seas and mostly clear conditions for the just-begun school break

The weather will be good across the country during the school holidays, the MET Office said on Thursday.

Students were released on Thursday following the end of the first term of the current academic year. With this, many families are expected to travel to the atolls and abroad.

The second term officially begins on August 2.

The MET Office said weather conditions are expected to improve this weekend and into next week. However, some showers are likely in northern parts of the country.

The MET Office issued its latest forecast at 06:00 am on Friday. Seas are expected to remain moderately calm.
