TTH participates in World Stroke Day awareness event

Tree Top Hospital (TTH) has participated in an awareness event held to commemorate World Stroke Day.

Organized by the Health Protection Agency (HPA), in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), the event was held at Artificial Beach on October 30^th. It brought together healthcare partners to promote stroke awareness, early detection, prevention and public education.

The event provided an opportunity for healthcare professionals to engage with the public and share important information on recognizing stroke symptoms and seeking timely medical attention.

Tree Top Hospital was represented in the event by:

• Dr. Joe Mariadas, Consultant Neurosurgeon
• Mr. Ramesh Babu, Chief Rehabilitative Therapist
• Members of the Physiotherapy team

The team engaged with attendees, providing guidance on stroke prevention, risk factors, warning signs and available rehabilitation services.

As part of the awareness activities, TTH conducted interactive educational sessions on the BEFAST method for identifying stroke symptoms, shared key information on stroke prevention and management, and organised a Myth vs. Fact activity to encourage public participation and address common misconceptions about strokes.

Informational flyers were also distributed to members of the public, highlighting the importance of recognizing stroke symptoms early, taking preventive measures and seeking immediate medical attention when warning signs appear.
