BML launches USD card promo with chance to win USD 1,000 weekly

Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced a new promotion where customers stand the chance to win USD 1,000 each week by carrying out transactions using the bank’s USD Debit Card.

The promotion will run until July 30^th.

According to BML, customers must apply for a new BML USD Debit Card during the promotion period and spend USD 100 or more to enter the weekly lucky draw.

Eligible transactions include retail purchases, subscription payments, ticket bookings, and payments for various digital services conducted using BML USD Debit Card.

The initiative comes at a time when BML has introduced a range of restrictive measures, citing a significant imbalance between the high demand for US dollars and the bank’s limited foreign currency availability. Among these measures, the bank recently reduced foreign transaction limits on Maldivian Rufiyaa cards, a move that has drawn considerable public criticism.

BML maintains that the measures were necessary and implemented as a last resort to address ongoing foreign currency constraints.
