The National Drug Agency (NDA) has opened applications for the post of Chief Executive Officer, offering a total monthly remuneration of MVR 52,030.
The position is currently held by Mohamed Rashid, who was appointed on an interim basis in July 2024.
According to the vacancy announcement published in the Government Gazette on Monday, the CEO will receive a basic salary of MVR 23,935 and an executive allowance of MVR 28,095, bringing the total to MVR 52,030.
The regulations governing the NDA Board were amended on May 2, extending the CEO’s term from three years to five years and tightening eligibility requirements for the role. The agency is responsible for drug rehabilitation, prevention, and national drug‑response coordination.
Applicants must hold an academic background in business administration, public administration, or human resource management.
Experience requirements are as follows:
Master’s degree: minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Level 8 / Honours degree: minimum 7 years of experience
Bachelor’s degree: minimum 10 years of experience
Candidates with a master’s degree must also have at least two years of senior‑management experience. Those with lower qualifications must demonstrate additional work experience to meet the competency threshold.
