The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has designated Thursday, May 28 as a special banking day during the upcoming Eid holidays.

Although government offices will remain closed from May 24 to 30, banks will reopen on the 28th and provide services from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

MMA said banks will not issue currency or cash to the public on that day. The authority has therefore advised banks to obtain the cash required for the Eid period during the official working days of the current week.

According to this year’s calendar, Arafat Day falls on Tuesday, May 26, and Eid al‑Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27.
