Former President Mohamed Nasheed led a large‑scale protest in Male' on Wednesday evening against what the MDP describes as intimidation and the unlawful arrest of journalists.

Hundreds of people took part in the rally, with crowds filling the Artificial Beach area. The march began from the MDP headquarters on Chaandhanee Magu, after Nasheed chaired a meeting at the party camp. He then led supporters onto the streets, accompanied by senior party officials and MPs.
