A five-foot crocodile was found on Saturday in an uninhabited island in Lh. Atoll.

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the crocodile was discovered at around 07:00 am by a group of people who went to Lh. Dhidhdhoo on a dinghy. The group caught the crocodile and took it to Lh. Naifaru.

The Naifaru Police Station subsequently reported the incident to the MNDF Northern Area Command, Coast Guard First Squadron at around 10:51 am.

Soldiers from the squadron went to Hinnavaru on a harbor craft, and transported the crocodile to Lh. Maafilaafushi, which houses a military training camp.

Lh. Dhidhdhoo is an uninhabited island that lies between Lh. Maafilaafushi and Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives.
