Finance Minister Moosa Zameer says the Maldives will continue to receive fuel shipments without interruption, and the government hopes refined oil prices will ease before next Monday.
Zameer made the remarks on Sunday at a press conference held by the ministerial committee formed to assess potential disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States in the Middle East. He said both oil and gas shipments are arriving as scheduled.
Zameer noted that crude oil prices showed movement last weekend amid ceasefire discussions, but refined oil prices did not show any positive change on Thursday or Friday.
“We are hoping for some positive change in crude oil prices by Monday next week. But because the war has not stopped, there are difficulties,” he said.
He reiterated that fuel shipments will continue without difficulty.

Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed, who also spoke at the press conference, said the government’s shipment schedule remains intact. According to the dates shared:
Diesel shipments are due on Sunday, next Saturday, and April 24.
Additional diesel shipments are expected on May 7 and 15.
Petrol shipments are scheduled for Saturday and April 27, followed by May 18, June 2 and June 21.
A gas shipment is expected around April 22–23.
The government has stated that it has no plans to increase fuel prices in the Maldives. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has also announced that work is underway to establish a national oil reserve.
