Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has launched a series of coordinated measures to assist tourists affected by global aviation disruptions linked to the ongoing Middle East crisis, reinforcing the Maldives’ commitment to visitor safety and destination reliability.

Working closely with national ministries and industry partners, VMC has already facilitated eight repatriation flights, including dedicated services to Germany and France, ensuring that stranded tourists are able to return home safely and without further uncertainty.

To provide direct assistance on the ground, VMC has also established a specialised Help Desk at Velana International Airport (VIA) in partnership with MACL and the Ministry of Tourism & Environment. The desk serves as a central support hub for travellers seeking guidance during the temporary disruptions.

As part of its broader response, VMC is in active discussions with multiple airlines to explore additional flight options and enhanced connectivity in the coming weeks. To sustain arrival numbers, the corporation has also initiated targeted marketing campaigns in key markets such as India, China, Russia and other Asian regions where travel flows remain stable. These joint efforts with tour operators and travel agents aim to minimise the impact on the tourism sector and maintain strong demand for the Maldives.

Looking ahead, VMC is developing a comprehensive Crisis Response Strategy to strengthen long‑term resilience. An industry‑wide consultation is planned to share insights, align recovery measures, and identify practical steps to support partners across the tourism ecosystem.
