Authorities investigate after pickup blocks ambulance to unload cargo

The Transport Ministry has begun looking into an accident involving a pickup truck that blocked the path of vehicles, including an ambulance which had its siren on, in order to offload cargo.

A video, which went viral on Sunday, shows the incident took place on a narrow one-way road in Male’ City.

The video shows a small pickup truck stop in front of a store to unload cargo, blocking the path of other vehicles, including an ambulance that had its emergency siren on.

The unloading of cargo continues uninterrupted despite the sound of the siren and the sound of vehicles blowing their horn.

The pickup driver also says something to the person videoing the incident as he passes by. However, the words are unclear due to the sound of the siren.

An official from the Transport Ministry told Sun that they are looking into the incident.

“The ministry will be taking action if found necessary once we finish looking into this,” said the official.
