President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Friday, has reaffirmed Maldives’ commitment to building equitable, inclusive societies where the dignity and rights of every individual are upheld.
In his message marking the World Day of Social Justice, President Muizzu emphasized that social justice is more than an aspiration; it is a guiding principle that shapes peaceful, resilient, and equitable societies. He called on the global community to renew its collective commitment to fostering inclusion and bridging social gaps.
The President highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen social protections, promote gender equality, encourage inclusive growth, and safeguard the rights of vulnerable groups. He noted that the Maldives’ membership in the Global Coalition for Social Justice has reinforced this commitment, allowing global standards to be translated into concrete domestic policies.

He pointed to new initiatives that have expanded access to services, particularly for those requiring targeted support, created opportunities for community engagement and lifelong learning, and strengthened the foundation for evidence-based policymaking through updated standards and regulatory measures.
The President outlined priorities including expanded housing programs, improved healthcare services, and equitable economic opportunities that support decent work. He also highlighted curriculum enhancements and more flexible learning options to ensure broader access to education.
Concluding his message, President Muizzu acknowledged that disparities persist and the path forward remains challenging, urging everyone to work toward a world where justice is not just a promise, but a lived reality for all.
On his official X account, he stressed that social justice means ensuring that people across the Maldives have equitable access to opportunity, dignity, and protection, calling on all to act with compassion and shared responsibility toward a sustainable future.
