Elderly man who fell from Male’ Hiyaa on ventilator

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) states the elderly man who fell from the fifth floor of Male’ Hiyaa on Thursday is currently being treated on ventilator at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The fall was reported to the Police at around 6:50am on Thursday morning.

The victim was identified as a 60-year-old Maldivian.

When questioned by Sun on Friday, IGMH said the man was being is being treated on ventilator at the ICU. The hospital did not provide any further details about his condition.

A video of the incident circulating on social media shows the man being rushed to the hospital, with his head and hands wrapped in bandages. The scene was surrounded by a large crowd of bystanders.
