A fire broke out in an apartment in Male' City on Tuesday, causing extensive damage but no injuries.
The blaze occurred on the first floor of M. Maleeshaage and was reported to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) at 14:54 hrs. Firefighters from the Male' Fire Station extinguished the fire at 15:24 hrs, according to MNDF.
Photos shared by MNDF show severe damage to the apartment, with a large section of the ceiling burned through and several items, including clothing, destroyed in the fire.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said it is investigating the incident. The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.
