A prosperous future for the country depends on the extent to which the Maldivian people demonstrate their cooperation and sincerity towards education, says President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
He made the remark in a message on X on Tuesday morning, congratulating educators, parents and students as schools reopened after a long holiday for the academic new year.
In his message, President Muizzu said that creating well-behaved, ethical and hardworking individuals who love their religion and country requires prioritizing education and upbringing of children.
He said that educating and getting educated is a great religious and national duty.
“Achieving the prosperous future the Maldivian people want for this country depends on the extent to which all of us cooperate and demonstrate sincerity towards fulfilling this responsibility,” he wrote.

Schools reopened on Tuesday, welcoming over 80,000 students across the country. But the students will be studying for just a few weeks before schools close again next month after the first week of Ramadan.
