Dr. Hussain Sunny Umar, a tourism media figure known for his work with Maldives Halal Travel and The Travel Guys, was produced before the Family and Child Protection (FCP) unit on Monday for questioning after returning to Maldives.

Police confirmed that Sunny was brought in upon arrival from abroad, though they did not disclose further details, stating only that the matter is under investigation.

According to local media reports, Sunny is accused of sexually assaulting three children from his wife’s family. The reports allege that two of the victims are under the age of 18. Media outlets also reported that Sunny had previously traveled to New Delhi, India, following the emergence of the allegations.

The Travel Guys, a company linked to Sunny, issued a statement on Saturday describing the allegations as serious and unacceptable. The company emphasized that the alleged actions are not connected to its operations or policies and pledged full cooperation with authorities.

Police have not yet confirmed whether formal charges will be filed, and investigations remain ongoing.
