President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged the film industry against straying from limits prescribed by the Islamic religion.

The President, via a post on X on Friday, citing that the Maldives is a hundred percent Islamic country, said every Maldivian should happily align their actions with the principles of Islam.

He advised individuals in the film industry to distance themselves from the traditions and culture of Muslims.

He also urged them against straying from limits prescribed by the Islamic religion.

President Muizzu added that the greatest service we can offer our nation is to be people who demonstrate examples aligned with Islamic principles for the younger generation to follow.

The President’s advice comes following public outrage regarding an outfit worn by a man at a recent movie premiere.
