Young girl being treated in ICU after fall from Addu flat

A young who fell from one of the flats developed by the government in Addu City’s Hithadhoo district is currently being treated in Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH)’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Maldives Police Service said the incident was reported to the authority at approximately 12:00am last night. As per the Police, the 15-year-old girl fell from the second floor of Hithadhoo Flat No. 14.

She is currently being treated at AEH’s Intensive Care Unit, the Police added.

The case is under further investigation by the authority.

An official from AEH told Sun that the girl’s condition has improved since she was first admitted. The official added that further tests are being conducted as part of her ongoing treatment.

This is the third fall in the span of four days. In this regard, a Bangladeshi man died after falling into the stairwell of the house in Maafannu district from the sixth floor of the building on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a 33-year-old Maldivian man died after falling from Hiyaa tower in Hulhumale’ Phase II on Saturday morning.
