Minister Saeed’s father passes away

Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed’s father and longtime serviceman for the state, Saeed Abdulla has passed away on Saturday night,

Saeed Abdulla passed away while undergoing treatment at India’s Amrita Hospital.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, via a post on X, said he received the news of Minister Saeed’s father, Saeed Abdulla’s death with great sorrow.

The President described late Saeed Abdulla as a respected individual who had served the state, holding several senior posts over 20 years during the Thuraakunu rule. He also highlighted late Saeed Abdulla’s good character, religious devotion and strong personality.  

He extended condolences to late Saeed Abdulla’s family and prayed for them to be granted patience during this challenging period.

Late Saeed Abdulla has served the state as an island chief.
