MDP calls on the international community to be mindful of the Maldivian judiciary

The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has alleged that the judiciary of the Maldives is systematically flawed and biased, and called on the international community to be mindful of the status of the Maldivian judiciary.

MDP said in a statement issued yesterday, “…The MDP further calls on the international community to be mindful of the status of the Maldivian judiciary which is systematically flawed and biased, as highlighted in numerous international, independent reports by the United Nations Human Rights Committee, International Commission of Jurists, Amnesty International, The Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group.”

MDP’s reasons for accusing the Maldivian judiciary of being flawed and biased were described in detail in the statement.
