President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu states the government is working on developing ways to introduce environmentally friendly biking across all Maldivian cities.
He made the remark via a post on X commemorating World Bicycle Day.
The President underscored that World Bicycle Day celebrates the power of bicycles to transform our lives and environment.

He underscored the need to rethink our transportation system as cities become more congested.
In line with this vision, he said the government is actively engaged in developing ways to introduce environmentally friendly biking in all the cities of the Maldives.
With the changes to the transportation system in the Maldives, the number of people using bicycles is extremely less. Many bicycle users have attributed this to the fact that there is no space to drive and park their bicycles.
