Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) has gained majority of Noonu Manadhoo Council, as the council’s president, vice president and one other member joined the party last night.
The three councilors who joined the party are, Council President Ibrahim Naseer, Council Vice President Ali Shifaz and Council Member Abdul Hameed Hussain. All three councilors previously held membership in Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) before they joined MDA.
The three councilors signed for MDA on a special function held in Noonu atoll Hilton Irufushi Beach and Spa resort. The function was held as part of the party’s special travels undertaken to the atoll to increase the party membership. MDA Interim Leader Ahmed Siyam Mohamed and Interim Deputy Leaders Ahmed Amir and Ali Mauroof attended the function.
The party’s temporary Spokesperson and Interim Deputy Leader Ahmed Amir has said that the events organized by MDA to increase party membership has been very successful so far, and noted that the party now holds majority number of members in most of the islands Noonu atoll.
