President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, has appointed Abdulla Nashid as the Deputy President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
President Muizzu submitted Nashid's name for the role to the parliament on Tuesday, last week. He received the parliament's approval with 69 votes, with all the members partaking the poll voting in favor unanimously.
Initially, President Muizzu nominated Ahmed Nashid, MA. Golden Moon. But a day following this, president had nominated Abdulla Nashid's name instead.
Nashid was appointed as a member of the ACC on January 26, 2025. Previously from 2011 to 2015, he had filled key roles at the commission as well.
Currently, the commission consists of its Preisdent Adam Shamil, members Shiyama Mohamed, Shazna Hashim, Abdulla Nashid, and Ahmed Nashid.
